HOW TO ADOPT: This cat is participating in our Shelter Cat Getaway foster program, which gives cats a vacation from the shelter and lets them enjoy home life while they wait to be adopted. To schedule a time to meet this cat, please contact Mary at mmccarroll@arl-iowa.org or Carol at cgriglione@arl-iowa.org.
---
- A sweet, shy cat who welcomes attention, once he has settled into his new home and become comfortable
- Is living with other cats in his foster home and loves to run, chase and wrestle with them, so he will love a cat friend in his new home
- Not a fan of loud noises or fast movements, so he's looking for a calmer home
- Loves to play in his tunnel and has fun in it - also seems to enjoy the wand toys
- Really likes getting pets and scratches, and will occassionally sit on your lap
- He knows his name and will respond when you call him
- Very handsome guy who will need time to adjust to new home; was fearful when he arrived in our care and has gradually opened up during his time with us in his foster home; he will be a wonderful friend for someone who can give him the time and patience he needs to become comfortable
- Young, noisy or busy children are not a good fit for him, so he's looking for a mature home that's calm and predictable
This cat can be fearful and may need extra time to adjust to a new home. We've seen good progress here at the ARL, but don't be surprised if it takes time for this cat to become comfortable in a new place. This cat may hide and just observe at first - maybe for quite a while - and that is perfectly normal. Young children are too much for this cat right now, so we are highly recommending a quiet, mature home. We are happy to provide post-adoption resources. If you can give this cat extra time, patience and TLC, please consider adopting! It will be so rewarding to watch them gain confidence and start enjoying all the good things in life!
All adoptable cats and kittens are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and FVRCP as appropriate for their age)
