These young, small cattle dog/shepherd mixes (ages 9 months to 2 years; 30-40lbs) originally came to PACC as part of an APS case and have spent their entire lives together as part of a larger pack, living outside and fending for themselves. They are not used to human touch or new surroundings, and need time, patience, and love to come out of their shells. Many of these dogs from this case have found placement however and thrived out of the shelter and in a loving, patient home.

These dogs have been at the shelter for almost a month, and despite the care they’ve received and hard work from our volunteers to help socialize, they’re not making the progress they need. Each one is shy, nervous, and struggling with the stressful shelter environment. PACC is beyond capacity and cannot provide the stability and peace of a home this group needs to truly thrive.

Here’s what they need:
• A home with no large livestock or chickens.
• A secure environment with proper containment.
• Ideally, a home with another confident dog to show them how to live as part of a family.
• Someone patient, kind, and willing to work on leash training and handling at their own pace.

These dogs have so much potential if given the right opportunity. They are shy but show glimpses of sweetness when they feel safe. The stability of a home is their best shot at a brighter future.
