Hello, I'm Uma. I'm just a kitten, and to be honest, I'm a bit shy. Big, loud noises startle me and I prefer quiet corners where I can observe the world. I enjoy playing with small, jingling toys and chasing after laser pointers. I'm learning to trust humans more every day. When someone is patient with me, I reward them with soft purrs and gentle headbutts. I might take a little time to come out of my shell, but I promise I'm worth the wait. It's easy to adopt. Fill out an adoption application and contract. All adoptions include spay or neuter, vaccinations, de-worm, and rabies. All dogs receive obedience training during their stay here at the shelter and most go to their new homes already trained.

The Humane Society of NCA is a non-profit, 501C3 organization staffed by employees and volunteers. We house approximately 50 dogs and 50 cats. We have been the only Humane Society in Baxter County for 40 years. Our Humane Society receives no government funding and is supported by donations from our members and members of the community.
