Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
We hate to see senior citizens in the shelter, and Onyx is no exception. This handsome, sweet senior deserves to be spending his retirement in a quiet, loving home where he can nap all day long, eat his dinner at 4pm, and play all the bingo he wants (ok, maybe not that last one). Here’s what one volunteer said about Onyx:
“I recently met Onyx and what a gentle giant he is! What a mellow, calm, easygoing, and sweet boy. He was resting on his bed when I entered his kennel and he leisurely got up and came over to greet me just like we were old friends. He’s very friendly and it’s easy to tell he truly appreciates human companionship. He wasn’t that interested in treats but he did sit for a few of them and took them very softly. He was easy to handle, leash up and walk and was not reactive to any of the dogs barking at him on the way out. He walks at a good clip and can pull when he wants to go in a certain direction, but I found him to be well-behaved and he minds well. He enjoyed exploring the play yard and he liked watching people and dogs walking by, but mostly he wanted to be with me and be petted. This big boy is definitely a people-oriented love bug – he’d do well in a home with a family who can spend a lot of time doting on him.”
Onyx shares his kennel with another PACC pup and has mostly kept to himself when meeting other dogs in playgroup. He’d like to meet any resident dogs before heading home to ensure a good fit. Onyx does not like to share his food (me either buddy!), so needs a family who will respect and work with his needs. If you have room in your heart for this big old gentleman, please ask to meet Onyx today!!
