My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Ray! This cutie was being sold on craigslist by a backyard breeder at about 3 months old. Ray settled quickly into his foster home and began hitting all his milestones. At his neuter appointment, the doctor noticed a 3 out of 6 heart murmur, which required further investigation. He recently had an echocardiogram with a cardiologist, which yielded some unfortunate news. Ray has THREE cardiac abnormalities: 1. Subvalvular and valvular aortic stenosis; moderate to severe, 2. Mitral regurgitation; suspect mild concurrent mitral valve dysplasia, and 3. Tricuspid regurgitation; suspect physiologic.
What this means, is that he will start a medication to control his heart rate and strength at which it pumps. He may have a slightly shortened life expectancy, but right now he acts like any other puppy. He spent the last few weeks running and playing on Rescue Moms farm, and romping with lots of other dogs. Ray's adopters will need to have a close relationship with their veterinarian so he can have periodic rechecks of his heart to evaluate how it's functioning.

Ray has been neutered, microchipped, and is UTD on vaccines. He will come with a supply of his heart medication, along with 6 months of oral heartworm prevention.
