My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buongiorno! My name is Romeo and you can see for yourself I am a very handsome fellow. I am friendly to adults. But I have not been exposed to other cats, dogs or children. My favorite thing to do is play with my sister Juliet. We chase each other through cat tunnels, play tag, pounce on each other and we LOVE to wrestle with each other. We have lots of toys to play with as well. I am in charge of keeping the mouse situation under control. You see, there are these tiny mice that come in different colors and have long tails. I catch them and carry them around by their tail in my mouth. My foster furmom is very proud of me because just the other day I drowned a little yellow furry mouse in Juliet and my water bowl. But now it is time for Juliet and I to find our own FOREVER HOME! Can we come live with you? You’ll be so happy if you adopt us because we are just so much FUN. But you must realize I CANNOT LEAVE MY Juliet. She is the LOVE OF MY LIFE and parting would be such sweet sorrow. Please contact our Foster Mom by email if you’d like to meet us! Until then….CIAO??

More about this shelter

Ventura County Animal Services (VCAS) operates two shelters within the county. The large main shelter in Camarillo houses over 400 pets and the administrative offices. Our smaller facility in Simi Valley houses nearly 40 pets at a time.

Each year, Ventura County Animal Services cares for more than 10,000 animals. Our goal is to reunite lost pets with their owners and find life-long homes for as many animals as possible, while providing proper care during their stay.
