My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $460 plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Frankie is an adorable Chihuahua mix! He is a spunky little guy who loves to zoom around, loves to run after toys, and have snuggle time with his family. He gets along well with other dogs, children, and has been exposed to several cats with no problem, a perfect fit for any kind of family! He has just been introduced to leash walking and doing very well. He is also working very hard on practicing outside potty, and he has made great progress with that too. I would suggest that he be on a leash or fenced in area. He is very speedy! Zooooooooom!

Frankie is about 1 year old, he is neutered, microchipped, and up to date with his vaccinations.

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
