Syrah is one lucky gal! She was born in a terrible filthy puppy mill where she was not loved and handled very roughly. Our rescue was called out to the home of a breeder for a different set of dogs and Syrah was not part of the pack of dogs we were set to rescue. As we were loading up to leave, the breeder brings out this screaming filthy puppy and asks us if we want her. She was literally screaming for help. Of course we said yes! We got her home and she was just terrified. She was covered in poop and pee and smelled horrible, so a bath was first to do. While bathing her we found over 30 ticks on her little tiny body! If she had not been rescued that day, this little girl would have surely died!
Syrah was a scared and very insecure puppy for the first several days, but now she is playful, snuggly and gaining confidence every day! She has been playing with the other puppies in the foster home and learning all about toys, doggy beds, and love! We are happy that she seems to be looking forward and leaving the past behind her.
Syrah will need tested for tickborne diseases in the near future. She also was treated for giardia, a common parasite found in puppy mills. She has finished her treatment.
Syrah's adoption is $500. She is microchipped and current on age appropriate vaccines. She is not spayed, as we do not spay until 6 months, and a spay contract is required. Visit leiashope.org for next steps!
PLEASE NOTE: We are a volunteer ran rescue with full time jobs. Please allow 7-10 days for application processing.
All of our dogs are in foster homes and a meet and greet is done ONLY after an approved application.
We do adopt out of the area. However, we do not ship or provide transportation. You must come to the location of the dog to meet and adopt. NO EXCEPTION. All family members and dogs must be present at the meet.
Dogs are a commitment for THEIR lifetime. For puppies this could be 15 years. If YOU cannot commit to the lifetime of the DOG, please do not apply. Puppies under 9 months must go to a home where there is someone home frequently (works from home or a partner is home), can adequately socialize and train the puppy, and can keep up with puppy
