My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please contact Mamie Hall (mamie.hall@luckydoganimalrescue.org) for more information about this pet.sweet scruffy girl ISO fresh start and love!

MOOSHA NEEDS A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME!!!!

Name: Moosha      Best Guess for Breed: Terrier mix type - maybe cairn terrier?

Best Guess for Age: 3 years as of September 2024        SEX: Female

Approximate Weight:    19 lbs

Gets Along With:  Other dogs! We haven't seen her with kids or cats but she can be tested.

Currently Living at:   South Carolina Shelter, she will be brought to the DC area soon!

Special adoption considerations: Moosha is a truly Lucky Dog. Although {he/she} has tested positive for heartworms, treatment has been scheduled! Heartworm is not contagious to people or other pets, but results from mosquito bites. Heartworm, if left untreated, is life threatening, but after treatment, dogs that were heartworm positive should suffer no significant long-term effects so long as they are kept on a monthly heartworm preventative. Heartworm dogs can resume full active and normal lives, but need to be kept calm for 4-6 weeks after treatment.  We are happy to talk more in depth about heartworm disease and treatment during the screening process

Moosha is Looking For:  Her forever family! This sweetie is barely out of puppyhood and has all that awesome young-dog energy for long sniffy walks, romps in parks, and all the adventures her new humans can dream up! She'd like to go to dog school, too, so she can show how super smart she is. Quality kibble and a cushy dog bed are on her wish list as well but you know what she wants most of all? To love and be loved, to be safe under her own roof. She has so many adoring gazes and happy tail wags and kisses to give in return.

What do you say? Is Moosha the one for your home and your heart?

What My Foster Says About Me:  We will update this once she has arrived in the DC area and spent some time with her foster.

Lucky Dog cannot guarantee any dog is housebroken.  All of our dogs are working on their crate training.

TO ADOPT:    The adoption fee for this dog is $475, which includes the cost of routine vetting, including vaccinations and heartworm treatment.  If you are interested in adopting, please complete the Adoption Questionnaire online at bit.ly/adoptaluckydog

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

The adoption process begins when you submit an adoption application either online or at an adoption event. The individual responsible for the dog you are interested in adopting - a position we call the “adoption coordinator” - will then set up a time to discuss your application over the telephone. The adoption coordinator will check your vet reference to make sure all current and past pets were kept up-to-date with their shots and medical care. The adoption coordinator will also set up a home visit with one of our trained volunteers. That individual will come to your home to ensure that it is a safe environment, to confirm that everyone in the home is on board with adopting a dog, and to discuss any other questions you may have about dog adoption!

Go meet their pets

Our adoption events are held each weekend. A schedule of times and locations can be found at www.luckydoganimalrescue.org.
