My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Blu, I'm from Missouri.

From Her foster: Blu is a gem! She is such a sweet girl. She loves her people and she has done well with our resident pups. She tends to follow her one foster brother wherever he goes whether he likes it or not.

She is house trained and sleeps in her crate at night. Because she's such a good girl we haven't been crating her when we are gone. She doesn't get into anything.

She is a little shy meeting new people and dogs and will bark but she becomes fast friends with everyone she meets. She doesn't bark too much, really only when she hears noises that are new to her. She does an adorable little howl bark when you let her out of her crate or when she greets you when you get home.

Blu is great on leash and loves going for walks and exploring outside. She is a little nervous riding in the car but she settles down especially if her foster brothers are along to show her she isn't going anywhere scary.

I work from home and she generally sleeps for a good portion of the day but is quiet and happy to just be near you. She's also gone to work with foster Mom and has done really well and loves to greet her friends in the office.

If you're looking for a super easy and super easygoing girl, Blu fits the bill. She will be a wonderful addition to her forever family.

From the Vet:
Blu was seen by a veterinarian that provided TBB with a few recommendations for upcoming or ongoing care that she may need. As an 8 year old pup, her teeth do have moderate levels of tartar, but nothing severe and no cracked or chipped teeth. We recommend that her future family pursue at home dental care such as teeth brushing or water additives to maintain her dental health or they may choose to pursue a surgical cleaning. This would be at their cost and would need to pursue such care with a primary care veterinarian. She did however have a mass that appears to be a benign cyst that is infected so TBB will be pursing surgery to have this removed. TBB will agree to cover surgery as well as 1 round of medications and a recheck if determined necessary. We know she will be the perfect addition to your home, she deserves the best forever home in her golden years!

Go meet their pets

The Bond Between's goal is to not keep any animals at our rescue office. The majority of our animals are living in foster homes until they are adopted. Occasionally, animals are living in our rescue office that are in need of a foster home.

If you would like to meet an animal at our office who needs a foster, please reach out to inofficeanimals@thebondbetween.org and fill out our foster interest form at https://www.thebondbetween.org/foster

More about this rescue

The Bond Between is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that focuses on the bond between humans and animals. We were founded in 2009 as Secondhand Hounds. Since then, we have rescued over 29,000 dogs and cats with the help of thousands of fosters, volunteers, and supporters in our community. Our organization has grown from a rescue to a first-in-its-class animal wellbeing organization... now The Bond Between! We continue to provide safe shelter, proper veterinary care, and daily necessities for animals while working hard to help them build a bond with humans. We also focus on supporting the bonds that already exist between people and pets with our pet food shelf, respite foster care program, and focus on social services.

We wake up every morning saying YES to connecting people and animals, caring for them, and helping them fill each other’s hearts.

You can help support us today by donating, fostering, volunteering, or sharing The Bond Between.
