My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Lady is a spayed female Australian Cattle Dog mix born about January 2024. She and her sister were roaming around country roads until their foster home took them in to help them get ready for their forever homes. Lady loves belly rubs and to be brushed by her Foster Dad and Mom, She is extremely intelligent and has learned to sit, stay, and come, and is working on walking on a leash without pulling. She hasn’t had an accident inside, but is watched and taken out often. She sleeps in her crate at night with all of her toys, and while a bit shy, plays with other dogs and cats at her foster home. Lady is a sweet, gentle girl who is up to date on all medical needs. Adoption fee $125 This covers the cost of spay/neuter, DHPP, Rabies, Flea, tick, heart worm check, worm treatment, and microchip. More about this rescue

Rutherford County Humane Society is a non-profit, 501(c)(3) organization that has been serving Rutherford County North Carolina since 1979, with the mission to significantly improve the lives of unwanted and neglected animals, and to measurably decrease this number through our spay and neuter programs, volunteer foster homes, and outreach and education. We are an independent organization that works in collaboration with other area animal advocacy groups. All of our efforts depend on our passionately compassionate volunteers, and financial support from the community. We have made the decision to use our resources to continue promoting the number one solution to our pet overpopulation problem - and that is spay/neuter. Our mailing address is still PO Box 998, Rutherfordton, NC 28139. Our website (http://rutherfordcountyhumanesociety.org) is always current, and you can contact us through the web. You will receive a prompt reply. We have adoptable pets posted on the site. If you need to find a home for a pet, you may contact us to have your pet posted on our website. We also post on Petfinder.com and PetAdoptionPortal.com.
