My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

To make the adoption process faster and easier, please visit www.almosthomeohio.org and complete our online application!

Daisy is 6 yrs old

Daisy is so cute! She is very loyal to her human and in the house, likes to watch from her spot. She is protective of them. When you first meet Daisy, she is liable to bark at you, but she’s gone to memory care facilities, done well and absolutely loves it. So if you are interested in a dog who would be good at doing those types of visits, it’s one of Daisy’s favorite things. Daisy also loves her foster’s bunny. She only knows a few commands so far: “time for breakfast” and “time for bed.” When she’s out in the yard, she enjoys exploring.

Daisy is sensitive and sweet as her name implies. When she is anxious, she does nib nibs on blankets and sheets, creating holes. Perhaps once she is permanently settled, this behavior will calm down. Daisy is shy at first when meeting new dogs.

Daisy is almost home. She is waiting for her forever human(s) to come meet her and take her on the final leg of her journey. D

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in adopting one of our dogs please go directly to www.almosthomeohio.org for an application. Once the application is submitted, our adoption team can discuss the information on the application with you to determine if one of our dogs would be a good fit for your home. Lastly, a home visit will be done either by one of our volunteers or another reputable rescue volunteer in your area. We do adopt out of state, but it is up to the adopter to come meet and take the dog home. Sound like a lot to go through for a dog? It really isn't as complicated as it seems and it's the best way to ensure a good match. Please contact adoptions@almosthomeohio.org with any additional questions you may have after reviewing the information on our website.

More about this rescue

Almost Home Dog Rescue of Ohio is made up of a small (but growing) group of enthusiastic volunteers who want to make a difference in the lives of homeless dogs. Our background is with purebred collies and collie mixes but on occasion, we have other "family friendly" breeds. If you are searching for a collie, we'd like to help you find a wonderful companion that fits your family's lifestyle. All of our dogs are fully vaccinated and are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. They have also been tested and are negative for heartworm and are on heartworm preventative.
