My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, my name is Nacho, and I am a handsome little Chihuahua mix, about 2 years old, weigh 12 lbs, and I was a stray dog in San Antonio, picked up by the city Animal Shelter, and landed on the euthanasia list because there are way too many stray dogs in Texas! Thankfully, besides being totally handsome, I am also small and sweet, and that's how my life was spared when 4 Little Paws Rescue decided to take me. Since then I have been living in a foster home, chilling out, having some fun, and getting ready to meet you!

I am a very nice boy, friendly with people young and old, other dogs and kitty cats. My foster mom says I’m shy at first but quick to warm up and I’m a loverboy. Even while in the middle of playtime, if I see her come home and sit on the couch, I’m right there beside her. Yep, I’d always rather get some affection than play. And I’m a good player! I love to wrestle and roll around with my doggy playmates, and I love to play with doggy toys. I’m housebroken, know how to use a doggy door, and am good with walking on a leash. I only bark when I need to alert you, and although I was curious about a kitty cat who lives with us, I don't pay any attention to him. I’d say I am ready to find my future, and I hear many wonderful families on the East Coast would be happy to have a sweet little dog like me, so get your doggy treats ready and bring me home!

* 4 Little Paws is based in CT. We adopt in many different states along the East Coast. Transport costs are included in the adoption fee. If you are located outside the states we typically adopt to, we have options to get the dog of your dreams to your location.

Additional adoption info

Please DO NOT apply unless the entire family / household is on board with adopting one of our dogs. We must receive an application for you to move forward in the process. Thoughtful direct emails are welcome and will be answered. However, an application is still a necessary step. We want to make sure we find our dogs a perfect fit with a family so both the dog and the family are happy. We keep our dogs with fosters once we get them out of shelters for a little bit to learn and understand their personalities. Our relationship with families doesn't stop at adoption! We are always available for any follow up questions and are happy to be a resource as you and your new pet settle into a routine.
