My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fletcher is a 70 lb. mixed breed dog--it looks like he might have Golden Retriever, Lab, and Greyhound in him. He is a very sweet and mellow guy who is used to having lots of room to roam. He has been surrendered into rescue after 11 years with his family because he is not good with small children hanging on him.

Consequently, Fletcher is looking for a calm, stable home with no small children. Older children are fine. He would be happy to hang out with his people, do a little walking, and spend time outside. He is used to being an only dog but gets along well with other mellow dogs and cats--he quickly made friends with a male Shih Tzu and a huge male cat in his foster home. Since Fletcher has a tendency to chase runners or bicyclers that go by the house, a fenced-in yard or Invisible Fence would be good for him. Fletcher rides well in the car, and bonds very quickly to people. He gives kisses, will put his chin on your knee, and loves a good belly rub! (He is also loves his cookies!)

Fletcher is a healthy, strong senior dog who still has some good years ahead of him. He is a true companion dog and his new family will be lucky to have such a loyal friend.
