My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Man Boy, the embodiment of youthful zest and curiosity. His days are filled with exploration, chasing after toys, and finding joy in the simplest things. He's a bundle of energy, always ready to play and engage in fun activities. His curious nature drives him to investigate every corner, every sound, and every movement. He's not just a dog, he's a friend, a companion, and a source of endless entertainment. His playful spirit is infectious, spreading happiness to everyone around him. Man Boy's adoption would mean a home filled with laughter, love, and liveliness. Here is some additional information we have learned about Man Boy:

Behavior history summary: Man-Boy entered care in August 2024. While coming into care, Man-Boy displayed some fearful behavior as well as impulsive behavior (jumping on and mouthing people) and also positive social behavior toward handlers. While in care, Man-Boy has continued displaying impulsive behavior and has developed positive social relationships with staff.

Cats/Dogs: No known history.

Kids: No known history. Due to excitable and impulsive behavior, we are requiring home with no young kids (under 10).

A consult with a behavior and training staff can be done prior to adoption if you wish.

In our care Man Boy has been vaccinated, neutered and microchipped. He is now ready to go home. If you would like to meet Man Boy, grab a leash and collar and come to the Escondido Campus.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
