For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Peanut Butter is a 9-month-old German Shepherd, Husky, and Lab mix who is full of energy and love. She started life as a stray, born to a Lab mom. I couldn’t resist when I heard about her and her sister being rehomed online after the shelter wouldn't take them. Even though I already had a dog, I wanted to give this sweet puppy a chance at a good life.
As Peanut Butter grew, it became clear that she needed more than I could provide. Shes an energetic and strong-willed pup, and without firm guidance, she can get into trouble—jumping up on people, knocking things off counters, and chewing on things she shouldn’t. She also lost an eye due to an infection, but shes a resilient girl.
I realized that as a single woman in recovery, raising another dog, especially a puppy, is just too much for me.
I also fear that I cannot keep her safe as she’s already lost an eye and got attacked by another dog requiring stitches. I’m asking God and the universe for help.
