My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

My foster writes: Manhattan (often called Manny) is a handsome black cat. Despite his rough beginnings in a hoarding situation, he has worked hard on his social skills and confidence in the foster home. Manny enjoys being around his humans (to see what they are doing) and has learned to enjoy being petted. He is playful, very food motivated and responds well to positive rewards. Manny is extremely vocal and is more than happy to tell you all about it, preferably over a handful of treats. He gets along well with resident cats and is submissive to other cats.
Manny tends to be shy, but has shown no aggressive behaviors (any hisses are just for show). He is slowly learning that being pawsy doesn't get him any rewards. In a new home, he will need a safe comfortable den to call his own. Like most cats from his situation, Manny has his quirks. Overall, he will be a fantastic companion for a calm household where he can continue to build his confidence.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

My history is a mystery and my friends here do not know much about me yet!

I have lived with cats.

I'm an independent kitty who likes to do my own thing.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

I can be slow to adjust to new environments. I prefer to take things at my own pace.

I will flourish in a calm environment and a low-traffic home.

I would do best in a home without very tiny humans, although I could be open to older human children once I meet them.
