My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Cinder, the fluffiest little Pomsky you’ll ever meet—well, more of a ‘Pom-wobbly’ at the moment, but she’s working on it! This 5-year-old, 30-pound ball of floof is all about the cuddles, and she’s not above trying to squeeze herself into your lap while you’re trying to navigate traffic in the car. Yes, she’s that committed to being close to her human. Cinder came to us because her family was moving and couldn’t take her along, and now she’s ready to settle into a home where she can be the ultimate lap dog and cherished companion.

Cinder is on a mission: Operation Get Fit. She came into rescue with a little extra padding, but don’t let that fool you—this girl’s got spirit! She’s already gone from barely making it around the block to confidently strutting her stuff, though she’s still working on building up her stamina. While she’s not ready for marathon hikes just yet, with the right amount of patience and consistency, Cinder could eventually channel her inner husky and keep up with the best of them. For now, she’s perfectly content with shorter walks, especially if there’s a chance to meet some new people along the way. She’ll hustle (in her own leisurely way) to greet anyone she spots, all while keeping her manners on point. She gets excited just at the sight of her harness (which, by the way, she absolutely needs—this little escape artist can slip a collar like a pro) and will hustle as fast as her body will allow to greet anyone she spots, all while keeping her manners on point.

Cinder’s a bit of a homebody at heart, but she’s game for public outings if you’re looking to take her along. Whether it’s a stroll around the neighborhood or a chill day at home, Cinder is just happy to be with her people. She might not be a fan of fetch or high-energy games, but she’s got a mellow, laid-back temperament that makes her a perfect candidate for a relaxed lifestyle—just as long as you’re committed to daily walks to help her on her fitness journey.

Now, Cinder does love her fellow dogs, but let’s be real—she’s not here to be anyone’s playmate. She’s more of a “you do you” kind of gal, preferring to observe the canine chaos from a safe, comfy distance. What Cinder really craves is human attention. She’s the ultimate cuddle connoisseur, and she’s not afraid to show it. Need a couch buddy? Cinder’s your girl, though she might need a little ramp to help her up there for now. She’s also a master at the silent Husky howl, a low-pitched serenade that she reserves for special moments like when she wants to go for a walk or when she feels the Pyr defense force has spotted an intruder (probably a leaf). Cinder's mellow and gentle nature extends to both cats and kids, too! While she hasn’t been around small children, she’s incredibly docile and would likely do well with respectful little ones who understand her need for some space and gentle handling. As for cats, Cinder is totally cool with them. She’s not one to chase or bother her feline friends, making her a great addition to a home with cats. Just keep in mind, she’s more interested in the human cuddle squad than in any wild games with her furry companions!

Cinder is the kind of house guest you dream of—no chewing on your favorite shoes, no digging trenches in the yard, and she’s not about to stage a great escape over the fence. She's fully potty trained, so no surprises there. While she’s not a fan of kennels (and frankly, she thinks they’re for rookies), she’s so chill that you’ll never need to worry about leaving her unsupervised. Cinder’s favorite spot is on the couch, but with her current "plus-size model" status, she might need a little ramp to assist her royal ascent. She’s the queen of couch cuddles, and once she’s up there, good luck getting her to move—unless there’s a treat involved, of course.

So, if you’re searching for a calm, loving companion who will happily share the couch and your popcorn, Cinder is ready to join your team. She’s working on shedding a few pounds, but in the meantime, she’s got plenty of love to give and an endless supply of snuggles. Just make sure you’re ready for a walking buddy who might need a little boost, a whole lot of encouragement, and who will repay you with unconditional love and loyalty.
