What is Rehome?
If you see pets listed by a private owner, it means that they’re adoptable through Adopt a Pet’s Rehome program – the safe and reliable way to find a loving new home for your pet.
Nellie is a 4 year old 50 lb Aussie/border collie/ lab mix. She is smart, adventurous, playful, affectionate, and funny. She has been the demo-dog in her classes, and will do most things for a belly rub and a treat. She knows sit, heel, place, and others. She loves to fetch, hike, swim, and snuggle on the couch. She loves camping and road trips.
She is also anxious and has had dog aggression. Unfortunately, she was in a fight recently with my in-laws 8 lb dog, who did not survive. The small dog had nipped repeatedly at Nellie. Before this event, we were cautious because of previous sporadic aggression, but she had never injured another dog.
She can take time to warm up, but adores people she knows & has never been aggressive to people.
Unfortunately, we cannot keep her because we are caregivers for aging parents, who are justifiably heartbroken about their loss. If the situation were different, I would take Nellie back 100%, and I know she will be a great pet.
