My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi! I'm Berk! I'm a 2-1/2-year-old neutered purebred Turkish Kangal, which is a breed of livestock guardian dog (LGD). Through no fault of my own, I'm looking for a new home.

My people got me so I could guard their livestock from predators, but I'd rather play with everybody! I especially love playing with other dogs but I'm a big goof, and my attempts at playing tend to make me look scary to other dogs -- even though I really don't want to be scary at all.

Truth is, I'm a big drop-dead gorgeous boy, and a beautiful mover. I love people and although I'm officially an adult I'm still very much a playful puppy!

I'd be an awesome companion dog for the right person. I'm currently in Livingston, MT but am willing to travel for the right home.

If you understand my breed and live in a rural environment with adequate fencing to keep me home, please text Brooks at 973-903-1723; or email brooks.watson1@gmail.com. Thanks.

Additional adoption info

First you must fill out an application which we will review. Then we will do a phone interview, reference check and finally a home visit before a dog is placed in your home. We ONLY adopt to homes where the dog is an indoor dog, part of the family and treated as such. We stress excellent nutrition, proper training and follow up with all our adopters.

We are probably have one of the more thorough and difficult adoption processes... and we love that people want to adopt and don't want to discourage adopters! So please, if you're in a hurry, or not an exceptional furever home - please try other rescues or a SHELTER is a great option too!
