Meet Suki. Beautiful, blue-eyed Suki is a confident cat that knows what she wants and doesn't want. She prefers to live a life according to her terms. Suki has slowly been learning that not everything can be how she wants it! Luckily, Suki is an extremely smart cat and is VERY trainable.

Right now, she occupies a space in-between: She wants to see how this family life works out but also doesn't trust the humans. It's pretty evident she is familiar with people and knows how to use them to get what she wants but unfortunately has never developed a relationship, connection or bond with someone. We rarely get a glimpse of her goofy and loving side, but it is clear that she is capable of creating a connection with her person.

Her person needs to be someone willing to put in that time because Suki deserves it. We do recommend Suki be the only cat of the house so she can get the time for training and bonding that she needs. She has tried to dominate one of the resident cats in her foster home.

In the meantime, training her has helped significantly because she doesn't like to be handled. Suki will put her teeth on you if you handle her or pet her when she isn't in the mood. We do believe trust will help combat this. However, she is clicker trained so she comes when she's called, so this prevents having to pick her up. Her foster mom also taught her to sit at the dinner mat before she can have her food. She also sits on command. This is just the beginning of her capabilities!

Can you be the person Suki needs and take her out of the in-between and show her that love is the way! Suki's love and trust will have to be earned, which means her love will be the greatest if she chooses to give it you.
