Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Sweet Mona! She came to us from the APA of St. Louis. This poor girl found herself on the euthanasia list at no fault of her own. She was hit in the head with a heavy object and had a trap on her rear leg at one time. All they could say is that the dent in her skull resembles a baseball bat. She has a slight bulge to her eye on that side, And she does have some balance issues. Other than that, she loves people. She will probably never have perfect use of her right rear leg, but she gets around fine. For a dog that has been through so much, you would never know it. She spends time greeting everyone that comes in and loves to play with the little kitties! She is your typical lab, with a heart so full of love. We can't get enough of her! She is stressed in the kennel environment so we would like to get her to foster or better even adopted! She is a small girl around 2-3 years old. For more information call us at 815-626-2994

All pet adoptions require a completed adoption application. Our office staff and volunteers act as matchmakers to find animals good homes. Your responses on the adoption application help them make a good match. You can also take our Meet Your Match survey (see below), which matches adopters with pets.
Adopters must be 21 years of age and live within 200 miles of our shelter.
The adoption fee is designed to offset some of the expenses we incur in caring for each animal.
