Semper's best fit home would have the following:
1. A doggie friend who likes to play and pal around. Semper often follows the lead of other dogs.
2. Patient adopters willing to help build his confidence outside the home on walks and seeing/experiencing new things. Semper is nervous on walks but does pretty well with a dog friend along. Semper is a shy guy initially but warms up within a day
3. A fenced yard for play and zoomies.
Semper is an older puppy that was rescued out of Beavercreek, Oregon. He was part of an accidental litter and his owner's reached out to us for help. The litter had been living in a chicken coop on some rural property. We jumped in to help the situation and rescue Semper and his litter mates.
- Date of birth: 1/26/24
- Border Collie/Australian Cattle Dog/Husky mix
- 40 pounds at 8 months old and likely will top out at about 45-ish pounds but we cannot guarantee size at maturity.
- He is a snuggly, affectionate sponge of a puppy who just wants love and to be included in a family. He has lived outside most of his life but is quickly learning how good it is to live indoors in a foster home.
- Hasn't had any potty accidents in foster so far and is kept on a potty schedule and goes potty right away when you take him outside and ask him to go.
- Nervous but does walk on leash with some encouragement and gentle guidance. Everything is new to him on walks so he hesitates and just wants to look at things. He will benefit from gradual exposure and confidence building. Semper does get spooked by sudden noises or movements while out on walks but this is getting better.
- Excellent in his crate and goes in there readily to nap. Sleeps in his crate at night.
- Fostered with other dogs and is playful and enjoys having a buddy
- Loves toys and food puzzles!
- Fostered with a cat and does well with the cat
- We have not seen him with kids but he is very sweet so we think he would be fine with kids ages 7+
Semper is fully vaccinated, neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested negative, dewormed, and current on flea/tick/heartworm prevention. His adoption fee also includes a free wellness exam at on of our partner veterinary clinics in Portland, Tualatin, Oregon City or Milwaukie.

All of our dogs are in foster homes that help them to learn to be good house guests. Our foster dogs thrive in a home environment rather than a scary shelter where they would become stressed. Plus we gain lots of good information about the dog's personalities in a foster home setting.
All foster homes are located within 45 minutes of Portland, Oregon. Once we receive your adoption application and chat with you, we will provide you the foster home's contact information that has the dog you're interested in meeting.
