Introducing Candy!
Our sweet Candy is five years old and from a large hoarding situation. She came to us afraid of everything, yet there’s not a mean bone in her body. Today, while still very shy and very unsure of a leash, she has joined the other dogs in play and is learning what it means to be loved by humans. Candy has made huge progress and continues to grow. This is the reward of rescue.
Candy loves to play outside and lay in the sun with her foster mates. She will come and give you a kiss, jump up for petting and wait excitedly for a treat. She is still leary of being picked up and will scoot away, but will come back to you for attention and more pets.
Looking for a ready-made pet? You might want to pass on Candy. But she just needs a chance. She will thrive with a well-adjusted dog in the home to show her that all is well. And a fence! She needs a fence. Watching her thrive will be the payoff for a loving family.
Candy has been in foster for four months and her foster mom loves her. But she needs a home of her own. We are hoping someone will open their heart to this deserving girl and give her the opportunity to feel safe with her family. She is a master of kisses! Candy is 17 pounds, spayed up to date and fostered in Barnegat, NJ.
And check out our Annie! Candy and Annie are two peas in a pod having been in the same hoarding situation. They are not bonded but they sure do enjoy each other's company!
Candy is 15 pounds, spayed, up to date and fostered in Barnegat, NJ.
