This helps Better Together Dog Rescue with pet care costs.
This is Lloyd! He and his brother had been stuck at an understaffed shelter for months waiting for help. We couldn't let these sweet puppies stay there any longer! We think they are red heeler (Australian cattle dog) mixes that were born in January 2024.
Lloyd is very respectful of other dogs and doesn't get in their faces. He is good at taking a hint and doing his own thing if the dogs around him don't want to play. He would love to have a doggie sibling to wrestle with, and/or an active family/person that is willing to take him on hikes, walks, or other adventures. Since we do think that he has some cattle dog in him he will herd things (including people) when he is excited. His current foster is working on training him to redirect his herding instincts to toys instead of ankles, but whomever adopts him will need to continue to work on this with him! For this reason, we do think he would do best in a home without small children, or at least a home with dog savvy parents/kids.
He sleeps through the night in his crate and does well when his foster family needs to crate him at times during the day. Lloyd hasn't had any inside accidents in a few weeks, is excellent on leash, did well at the dog park, in public settings and just a playful, sweet pup.

All dogs going to a home with another dog must be intoduced at the shelter. We highly recommend all family members attend a meet and greet.
