My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Tawny! She is an eight-year-young Boston Terrier/Chihuahua mix who weighs 12 lbs. Tawny's favorite human recently passed away and unfortunately the family did not want to keep her and she ended up and the shelter scared and confused. But now she is living in a loving foster home and adjusting to a new life. Tawny loves other dogs but she loves them on her time and needs time to warm up. She can be a little hungry for affection which in turn can make her a little grouchy if another pup tries to steal her human from her but it’s easily corrected as she is so intelligent and a pleaser. She is definitely a sassy and sweet girl who loves to walk but is fairly low energy. She is great traveling partner in the car and absolutely loves children! Tawny is the ultimate snuggle buddy who is so easy. She is potty trained, crate trained and leash trained. She would make an excellent addition to anyone that has experience with spicy pups and can give her the love she is missing from her human in heaven.

Additional adoption info

We require an application, application approval, meet and greet, home check, adoption fee and a contract.

2 months -12 months: $425
1 year - 6 years $375
7 years+ - $325

Adoption fee includes :

Shots up to date of adoption, wellness exam, fecal test,
Spay/neuter, Micro-chip and any other medical needed.

We also require to stay first on the micro-chip info for life and have a life time return policy on all our rescue dogs adopted out.

Unfortunately, we do not adopt out of state under any circumstances. We recommend that you visit your local shelter or dog rescues in your area if you are looking to adopt.

I.C.A.R.E. is an all breed, no kill dog rescue. We rescue dogs at risk of being euthanized from shelters, abandoned, abused, and stray dogs. We also rescue many owner surrendered dogs; which are dogs that can no longer remain in their current homes due to financial or personal issues. I.C.A.R.E. Dog Rescue is dedicated to reducing the number of dogs that are euthanized in our shelters each and everyday. We focus on rescuing and rehabilitating them in loving foster homes until they are adopted into their permanent homes. We also focus on educating the public regarding specific breeds, rescue, and general information regarding the canine species. We are a 100% volunteer run and supported organization that cannot survive without the help of loving fosters, volunteers, and benefactors.
