Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Joey and Chandler are a 5-year-old bonded pair. They are sweet and cuddly and looking for their forever home.
Joey loves to munch on plants, whether they be fake or real. Both these cute guys adore fish tanks and bird feeders and a spot by large windows or sliding glass doors.
They love watching fish, birds, squirrels, playing with cat toys, enjoying some catnip, and cuddling. Chandler will often throw around cat toys and entertain himself. They also both are always ready to chase the laser pointer
These handsome fellows enjoy the simple pleasures in their day. They sleep in bed with their favorite human (their foster human’s daughter), and upon waking they have breakfast. They eat separately, as Joey has a special diet and Chandler will overeat if given the opportunity, whereas Joey is more finicky and only eats soft food. They both also love a couple of Greenies treats daily.
Both kitties truly enjoy being with their foster people, and they can be found often at the sliding glass doors watching the neighborhood wildlife or hanging out on their cat tree watching YouTube videos of birds.
These true friends currently live with a mother and daughter in a quiet environment. They both dislike sudden noises and too much activity in their personal surroundings. They sleep with the foster daughter and often are her shadow.
The ideal home for this sweet pair would be relaxed, calm and quiet, in a space where someone is often at home. They do not like other animals, active children, or loud music. They would do better where there are no young children as they like to be picked up and touched on their own terms.
A home without a lot flowers/plants would be ideal as Joey just can't help himself from nibbling on them. They love their humans and would do best with someone who doesn't mind them sleeping with them at night. These kitties have, sadly, had their front claws removed in their pre-foster life, so they absolutely cannot be in a home where they are ever let outside.
Joey is on a special kidney diet and may need to be followed by a vet more frequently. He also occasionally gets nauseated and may need an anti-nausea medication, so someone comfortable giving meds would be great.
These two are strongly bonded and are so ready to give their own special brand of quiet love and affection to the right home. If you’re ready to say “I’ll be there for you” to this incredible pair, then Chandler and Joey are so ready to meet you!
There is no guarantee of age and breed as a rescue animal's history is unknown. All ages and breeds are best estimate. Adoption fees include a mandatory sales tax of 7.525%. All cats have received comprehensive veterinary care and tested negative for feline leukemia and FIV unless otherwise stated.
Cats are up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations and have been spayed/neutered, treated for fleas and/or ear mites, de-wormed, and microchipped. Please note there may be additional follow up visits and boosters that are not covered by Pet Haven after adoption. Interested in adopting or learning more about this cat? Pet Haven is a foster-based rescue. Our animals live with foster families until they are placed in permanent homes and their foster families get to know the dogs and cats learning important information about the animals. For example, the foster family will know if the dog or cat is good with other animals or children, and will have a good idea of what kind of training, attention, and special needs the pet may require. This makes our foster families great resources for potential adopters!

Our Vision

Our Values

How We Help
Spay/Neuter Initiative Program: Providing support to end pet overpopulation in Minnesota
Owner Surrender: Providing a safe haven for pet owners
Foster: Committed to finding forever homes for cats and dogs
Phoenix Fund for Special Needs: Providing veterinary care for animals in need of healing
What We Do
We help dogs and cats find homes with loving families through foster-based care. Every dog and cat lives with a foster family until they find their forever families. We provide all of their basic needs including proper food, veterinary care, behavior training, and supplies.
Through in-home fostering, we learn about each animal’s temperament, personality, likes/dislikes, and any medical needs. With this first-hand information, we can then find the right family for each dog and cat.
Our volunteers also educate the public on responsible companion animal care and represent respect for animals at all times. Whether we’re working with prospective new families, meeting people at public events, or socializing with friends and family, we encourage others to view and treat their pets as members of the family. We are their guardians, and they depend on us for companionship and care.
We spay/neuter prior to adoption.
We microchip all our Pet Haven Pets and remain as a secondary contact.
We make sure all pets are up to date on required vaccinations
We test for Heartworm and Lymes in all our dogs and are transparent in the results and treament
We test for FeLV/FIV and are transparent in the results. We believe that cats who test positive still deserve a chance at a quality home.
We do not euthanize animals unless they have untreatable health or behavioral conditions that deny them an acceptable quality of life or makes them a serious threat to people, other animals, or themselves.
How We Operate
We rely on adoption fees, tax-deductible donations, grants, and special events to keep our rescue operating. Our staff, Board of Directors, and volunteers have provided the passion and commitment to keep Pet Haven a safe haven for animals for almost 70 years.
We are committed to preventing pet homelessness through the SNIP Grant. Since 2005, we have granted more than $240,000 to organizations in Minnesota to support spay/neuter initiatives.
