My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Taco and his siblings were trapped from a feral colony in West Valley. This big, hairy boy is handsome and he knows it. He is laid back, but once he gets used to you he is very sweet, loving and will seek out pets. He starts purring as soon as you start holding him and absolutely LOVES toys. He is endless entertainment and always has us laughing. When he is excited he loves to run around the house chirping and it is the cutest thing. He also loves belly scratches ones he feels comfortable around you. Got treats? He is the first one there and trust me, he thinks he is ALWAYS starving. Taco would do great in any home, but may need a little extra time to warm up and show you his killer personality. He does like other cats after a proper introduction. He is house and litter box trained. He would LOVE to be adopted with his brother Fundido! Additional adoption info

Since we make a lifetime commitment to any animal that comes into our program, we only adopt out animals to people in our area..

If you are interested in adopting a CAWS cat or dog, please fill out the online application at http://www.caws.org/application/, email adopt@caws.org or call 328-4731. For the most timely response applying online is recommended.

We respond as quickly as possible but as we are a volunteer based organization and do not have full time staff, we respond as quickly as possible.

Go meet their pets

CAWS does not have a conventional shelter facility - all CAWS animals waiting for adoption are in foster homes. The number of animals we can help find new homes for is closely linked to how many CAWS foster homes are available. For additional information regarding how you, too, can become a foster, please see our fostering page located on our web site!

CAWS volunteers bring cats and dogs to the PetSmart near 2100 South and 300 West in South Salt Lake on the third and fourth weekends of each month

We are also at the Sugarhouse PETCO (1165 Wilmington Ave) the first Saturday of each month.
