My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

UPDATED BIO 08/15/2010: Hi! A lot has happened in a short timeframe. I learned I am acutally only 9.9 pounds and still hope to lose a pound, but FM believes that either way my heart makes up half of my weight because I am an absolute sweetheart. I am not a needy pup, nor am I very vocal, but when given an opportunity I will be super affectionate and snuggly. Until I get my chance for attention I will try to charm you with my patient big brown-eyes! One look at me and you'll have to reach out and pet my soft coat. I have short hair right now, but FM has pictures of me when I've had long silky hair and either way she thinks I look amazing!

FM not only compliments my appearance, but she says my personality makes it hard to believe I am 9 because I am spunky and agile and always ready to play with squeaky toys as well as my sister Sheba. I also enjoy going on walks (although this Florida summer makes it too hot to go far) so I'd do fine with a small fenced yard. I'm also really smart and understand basic commands, I even learned a new trick in one-day - how to go up and down 2 flights of stairs! I have easily adjusted to my FM and her home and I am curious about her pups and think I will be good friends with them soon! I am a "catch" so don't let my age fool you! In fact, I just got a clean bill of health (with the exception of a minor thyroid issue that the vet says is easily treated). I am getting neutered in two weeks and will be eager to go to my "furever" home! Do you think you would be willing to add me to your home? Please don't forget that it would be a dream to stay with my "sister" Sheba, although we can be adopted separately. If you want to see us in action, take a look at this video and let me know if you have room in your heart and home for either or both of us. XOXO! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7J2QXMoerjY

INITIAL BIO 08-12-2010: MEET SCOOBY! Scooby is a sweet 9 year old, 11# male who came into rescue with his 'sister', Sheba (see her bio below below -she is sitting on the top cushion in the pix). Their owner surrendered them to UYR because she was unable to care for them any longer and wanted them to have a better life. Although they came in together, they can be adopted separately...... unless there is someone out there with a huge heart who can take them both - they have been together their entire lives! They are both being fostered in Tampa, FL. Scooby and Sheba only arrived today at their foster home, and are still figuring everything out. With a change in environment, they appear to be comforted by each other and have been snuggling together. They both appear to be super affectionate towards Foster Mom, and also appear to love anybody they've come into contact with so far. They are both friendly towards other dogs because FM has two yorkies, although Sheba didn't appear to be too excited with FM's 1 y/o yorkie's energy........... but, that will probably change soon. So far, they both seemed to be housetrained and are well-mannered. Scooby and Sheba each have soft coats, but were only recently rid of lots and lots of fleas, so their beautiful long coats should come in really nicely. FM reports that each of them really loved their baths. Unfortunately, in the recent past, they were eating a lot of junk food, and each needs to lost a little bit of weight, but FM will check with the vet and make sure they are put on the appropriate diet - and no more junk food!

Please stay tuned to learn more fantastic things about both Scooby and Sheba's personalities.............do they sound like they may be the perfect dogs in your home?
