Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Buddy's Story - Key Highlights:
Fun-Loving and Playful: Buddy is a young, energetic dog who loves snuggling with his people, swimming, playing fetch, and riding in the RTV (side-by-side). His sweet eyes and calm demeanor make him an instant favorite, and he's always ready to play when the time is right.
Good with Older Kids: He enjoys attention from children aged 7 and up but may accidentally knock over smaller kids due to his size.
Adjusting to Other Dogs: In Buddy's first home, he missed out on socializing with dogs other than the two he lived with. Buddy is learning to socialize with other dogs but needs a patient owner who can help him improve his social skills. He tends to assert dominance when meeting new dogs, which can be stressful for them. Due to missing out on the critical socialization period Buddy would be better as the only dog in the home!
Respectful with Other Animals: Buddy mostly ignores the barn cat and is respectful around horses, though his behavior with indoor cats is unknown.
Learning and Adaptation: Buddy is learning to enjoy car rides, walks well on a leash, and has picked up basic commands like sitting for his food and waiting his turn for treats. He's been visiting new places like Farm & Fleet, where he was very well-behaved and loved by everyone he met. While he’s off-leash most of the time on his foster family's 106-acre property, his recall is pretty good, although he might just be following what the other dogs are doing
Potential Counter-Surfer: He has a tendency to counter-surf and needs a home where food is kept out of reach, and trash cans and shoes are secured. He enjoys toys and has not been destructive with them, even stuffed toys.
Needs Lots of Exercise: Buddy would thrive in a home with plenty of space to run and access to water. A dog that matches his play style or regular playdates with a doggy friend would be ideal.
Looking for a Dog-Savvy Home: Buddy is still learning about the larger world beyond what he experienced in his first home. He doesn’t always understand dog language, either giving or receiving, so extra care is needed when meeting new dogs. Buddy is looking for a patient, dog-savvy home that can guide him through these challenges and help him grow into a respectful and responsible adult dog.
Buddy is a lovable, active "teenager" who needs the right home to help him continue to learn and thrive. With proper guidance and a loving environment, Buddy will make a wonderful, loyal companion. If you think you have the right home for Buddy, he would love to meet you!
