My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Kailani is an 8 year old intact female pitbull mix looking for a new home due to her current owner's living situation. Here is what her current owner says about her:

Kailani is the smartest and sweetest dog I have ever met. Sometimes I feel that she is a reflection of me as her owner. She knows general commands such as “sit” or “lay down/down” (pointing your finger to the floor). She knows when to give her paw when you place your hand in front of her. She also knows how to “spin.” She’s aware of different terms like water, hungry, potty, outside, walk, etc. Kailani loves physical and quality time. She’s loyal, obedient, and overall a sweetheart. She deserves a home with people who love her just as much as I do. She is very excited to meet new people. She does not jump up on anyone but rather wags and shakes her little butt to express this excitement. Once everyone has met, she becomes much more calm and independently wanders around the house. She very much enjoys the company we have had in the house and loves the people she meets.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

*The shelter is currently open for adoptions by appointment only. Please email us at adoptycas@gmail.com if you are interested in adopting.
For other shelter services, please call us at (530) 668-5287*

To adopt you must have a photo ID and proof of your current address. If not on your ID then bring in a bill with your name and your current address. If you rent you must provide a lease clearly stating the pet policy or provide a name and phone number for your landlord so that we may confirm the pet policy. If you own your home you may provide a mortgage statement or property tax bill for proof.

You must be 18 years or older to adopt.

If you wish to adopt a dog and have other dog(s) at home, please bring them with you to the shelter so that they may meet. Even if your dog is wonderful with other dogs, many of the dogs at the shelter have come in as strays so we have no history on them and need to be sure they get along with your pet(s).

If you have any other questions, please go to www.yolocountysheriff.com or call the shelter for more information.
