My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Boots was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 23, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Boots, a gentle soul who's searching for her new home! This shy girl may take some time to acclimate, but with patience and love, she's sure to blossom. Boots has lived harmoniously with other cats and would love a friendly feline companion to help her feel more at ease in her new environment. While she's still finding her confidence, she's beginning to enjoy gentle petting and affection. Ideally, Boots is looking for a quiet home without young kids, where she can thrive and develop her unique personality. If you're ready to give this lovely girl the time and space she needs, she's ready to find her special place in your heart! Bring in a carrier and ask about adopting today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
