Meet Penny – Your New Best Friend!

Penny is a 10-month-old Basset Hound-German Shepherd mix with a heart full of love and a playful spirit that will brighten any home. Weighing in at nearly 50 pounds, this sweetheart is full of energy and loves to spend her days playingwith her furry friends. Whether she's chasing after a toy or simply enjoying a good romp in the yard, Penny's enthusiasm for life is contagious.

While Penny is a bundle of joy, she’s still growing into her paws and could use some help refining her manners. She loves to play but can be a bit rough, so she would do best in a home with older kids who can handle her bouncy nature. She’s a curious girl who enjoys exploring and might even steal a flower pot or two, but her endearing clumsiness is all part of her charm.

Penny gets along wonderfully with other dogs, sharing her toys and food without a fuss, and she even gets along well with cats and birds. She’s house-trained, sleeps soundly in her crate at night, and knows her routine well. After a good walk or a play session, she’s more than happy to lounge on the couch and relax with her favorite humans.

An application, agreement, personal reference check, vet reference check and home visit are required.

Adoption fees are below. All of our animals are microchipped, up to date on vaccines and fully vetted.

Puppies under 1 year : $495
Adults 1-9 years: $375
Adults 9+ years: $300
Special Needs Animals: dependant on specific animal and his or her needs

ADDITIONAL DEPOSIT of $125 for spay/ neuter for all unaltered dogs unless the spay/neuter

We are located at 46 Sodom Road, Brewster, NY. You can come stop by 7 days a week from 11am-4pm. While we have 15-18 dogs housed at our adoption center, the majority of our dogs are located in private foster homes.

SNARR Northeast Animal Rescue's mission is "Giving Hope to the Hopeless.” SNARR stands for Special Needs Animal Rescue and Rehabilitation. We do focus on animals with special needs but we also rescue perfectly healthy dogs as well! SNARR works with municipal shelters all over the country to save animals at risk for being euthanized. Our dogs (and cats) are all in foster homes prior to being adopted.
