Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Artie is a gorgeous red Doberman that is docked and cropped. He has a beautiful traditional ear crop with full mobility. He was found as a stray so we do not know his history. He is estimated to be between one and three years old. He is acclimating to life as an indoor dog and blossoming in his foster home. He is vetted and ready for his forever home.
Artie is very sweet and relatively high energy. He is an extremely curious Velcro Doberman with a red goofy personality but does get nervous with new things and recall. He enjoys running in the yard, eating, playing with toys and female Doberman at his foster and chewing on bones. He loves going on walks and continues to work on his leash skills. He has met the neighbors and their dogs and done well. He was also cat tested and ok with indoor cats.
He is working on housebreaking and happily wears a belly band while he learns. He does not like going outside by himself. He is crate trained and strongly recommend using one when you are not home to keep him out of trouble. He is young and likes to get into things including socks and shoes.
If Artie sounds like a good fit, please put in an application!

More about this rescue
Bluegrass Doberman Rescue was formed to provide a needed service to the Doberman rescue community based in the state of Kentucky. Although the rescue itself was just formed in 2017, the volunteers behind it have over 10 years of experience in rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming Dobermans. We are committed to helping purebred Dobermans find their forever homes as well as educating the public about this often misunderstood breed. We understand that not everyone can own a Doberman but we are also here to provide support to those who do. We believe this rescue should be a cooperative effort between all volunteers and a collaborative effort between rescues to help this wonderful breed of dogs we all love.
