For Adopt a Pet and the PEDIGREE® brand, October is all about finding homes for dogs in shelters. Adopt this month for a PEDIGREE® Wet Food Pouch and a chance to win a Homecoming-style photo shoot and shelter donation.
Nova came to us after Law Enforcement found her abandoned by her family in a house in Albert Lea. Born in July 2023, Nova is a sweet girl and she keeps a pretty clean kennel here, so would probably just need to adjust to your home and routine. She doesn't care for every dog here at the shelter, so if you already have a dog, we would have to see how well they might get along. She doesn't like small dogs and cats though. Nova likes people and would be ok with older kids that are comfortable with dogs. Nova is almost 60 lbs and is a beautiful girl. Come and meet her - she might be the perfect girl for you!
All pets adopted from the Humane Society of Freeborn County will be spayed or neutered, up to date on age appropriate vaccinations, testing and will be microchipped. All of this is included in their adoption fee. Fill out an application to adopt at freeborncountyhs.org
When transitioning your new pet home please allow for at least 4-6 weeks for your pet to adjust to their new home. They will need this time to decompress, and adjust to a new routine and environment. During that time we will provide check ins and counseling to ensure a successful transition.
Please review all basic adoption requirements listed on our website before applying. We take finding the right homes for the animals in our care very seriously. They deserve nothing but the best! Please allow 2-7 days for applications to be processed.
If an animal is listed in foster care, these pets are not at our facility, but are in foster care homes. They are still available for adoption, and meet and greets are done with pre-approved applicants only.
If you have any questions feel free to send us an email at freeborncohumanesociety@gmail.com, send us a message on Facebook, or call or text 507-377-8501.
