My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello there! My name is Peter. I take a little time to warm up to new people, but I`m a fun boy. I`m SUPER smart! I already know sit, down, and shake, and I`ll even roll over too. I also like to play ball and explore with my nose. I`m about 47 pounds, and it`s all wiggly love! I`m very active and I would love a family who can help me become the best boy I can be! Will you give me a chance?

If you`d like to know more about me or want to meet me, please call TCRAS at 719-686-7707 to set up an appointment!

Additional adoption info

To adopt:
All adoptions must be done in person. Visit the shelter to meet the adoptable animals you would like to consider. TCRAS is open 6 days a week, please see hours of operation.

Your visit with each animal will be assisted by a trained adoption specialist to answer questions, address concerns and to help you decide if the animal is a good fit for your home environment (i.e. children, other pets, specific needs, etc). You can also bring in your current pets to do a visitation (this may be required with certain animals).

In the year 2000, the Teller County Regional Animal Shelter (TCRAS) was formed and continued under this leadership to the present day. Our shelter is a small, rural shelter. Every year, over 800 lost, abandoned, neglected, or homeless dogs and cats get assistance from TCRAS. We do not euthanize for time or space.
