My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pouncer
Finally! The interviewer lady can publish our interview because I am now healthy and ready to blow this pop stand! I came to the HSHC more than six months ago because my owner died. I arrived along with four other cats who have already been adopted. My problem was I tested positive for some nasty infections, panleukopenia, and calicivirus, which are highly contagious viruses among cats. Add to this, I had to have several teeth removed. Yikes! I had to stay in the Sick Bay for-ev-er! I am only 4-years-old, neutered, and litterbox trained. I am solid black with big green/gold eyes. The most important fact for you to take from this interview is I am such a good boy! I am incredibly affectionate and seek attention from my people. I love being brushed (mostly because I`m getting your attention) and will let you hold me. I am staying in a Catio, which is a lovely room with three walls of windows and allows me to roam and snooze anywhere I choose. It is such a relief to be out and about in the sunshine. I am so grateful to the medical staff for helping me recover. Now, I only need a family who will give me the love and support I crave. I have so much life ahead of me; wouldn`t you like to share it with me? 12-18-24

More about this shelter

With an open admission policy, a No-Kill philosophy, and more than 3,100 animals crossing our threshold each year, we have still maintained a 98% placement rate over the last 3 years.

This is an amazing feat for any organization…let alone one that takes in some of the most abused, injured and seriously ill animals imaginable.
