Check out our sister brand, Kinship, for vet chat, a nutrition calculator, basic obedience training, and (much) more. So you're never flying solo in this pet parenting thing.
Say hello to Nova, the newest member of the FFAA family. Due to unfortunate and unsafe family circumstances, Nova is here, and we are hoping to find a foster-to-adopt placement right away for her. At four years of age, she had been with her family since she was only 7 weeks old. She is having a hard time adjusting to shelter life - and who wouldn't, after four years of being the adored family dog.
Nova has been deaf since birth. Due to not being able to hear herself, she can be more vocal than the average dog. However, she knows quite a few hand signals that we will show her future adopters, including one for "Quiet."
Nova is dog friendly (she really enjoys dogs licking her ears) and LOVES her tiny humans (she is great with kids and teens of all ages). She's a perfect family dog! She is described as being a friendly couch potato who is super affectionate. She is house trained. During the day, she spent her time indoors and free roaming, and she is accustomed to having the pick of her family member's beds to sleep in. Her passions include car rides and her blankies - she loves suckling on them. She's a huge fan of sunbathing, and she greatly enjoys trips to the creek.
When we asked if there's anything that they would like Nova's future owner to know, we were told, "She is an amazing dog. She will greet you with a smile every time you walk in the dor. She loves her tiny humans; we are her emotional support people. She loves to be petted and blankets."
Nova has been through the wringer these last few weeks. During her spay, we discovered that she has a blood clotting disorder which led to complications post-op. Nova is having issues with her mobility now; while she is improving every day, she does need help moving her back end around.

More about this shelter
Faithful Friends Animal Advocates, Inc is a non-profit organization committed to helping our community become a place where animals are treated with kindness and respect. Further, we want to be a voice for the welfare of animals in our community through various avenues.
We fulfill these goals by taking in homeless and vulnerable animals, rehabilitating, vetting, and preparing them for their future home, and ensuring that they are a good fit for those interested. Our goal is longevity - we are thorough when approving applications because we want their next home to be forever.
Our pledge to the animals under our charge knows no time limits. Our no-kill mission means that as long as it takes, we will keep searching for their perfect home. And if during that search, they need to rejoin our care, we welcome them with open arms no matter how long it has been.
People
From our paid staff to volunteers that support us at events and throughout the week, the dedicated and passionate community members that are involved in FFAA's mission are what keep us going. We always welcome new faces! If you are interested or know someone who would like to support our efforts, please contact us. We could not do it without our foster families, dog walkers, kennel cleaners, puppy and kitten socializers, event organizers, artists, chefs - everything we do is a group effort and thanks to the time and effort given freely and faithfully year after year.
