She’s a Heartbreaker, Dream Maker …
Meet Pat Benatar! Pat Benatar is located in a foster home in Spokane, WA and can be transported to your area. (See information below in the “Adoption Donation” section.)
Born in February of 2024, Pat Benatar is a female puppy from our Rock N Roll litter. DNA results indicate she is a mix of shepherd, husky, and Staffordshire terrier (she definitely has shepherd ears and the typical husky “who, me?” look and energy). Those oversize ears, sweet face, and cute freckle markings charm everyone around her. We guess that she will be a small adult dog in the 20-40 lb. range. Pat Benatar was adopted from our rescue in May of 2024. Unfortunately, the son of her adopter developed severe dog allergies, and they had to make the difficult choice to return her. Now back in foster with us, Pat Benatar is All Fired Up to find a family to love her.
If this Pat Benatar had a signature song, it would be either We Belong or Never Wanna Leave You. This pup loves being with people; she is energetic, playful, affectionate, and loves to give kisses and snuggle with you on the couch. Like any performer, she relishes your attention. Her foster says this friendly, funny girl looks like she is always smiling. Wrestling and playing with her toys makes Pat Benatar deliriously happy. Tug of war, squeaker toys, jumping outside, fetch (though she’s still learning to bring the ball back), and daily walks are all high on her list of favorite things to do. Social and curious, Pat Benatar makes friends with kids and dogs and all the people she meets. She did well with cats as a younger puppy but has not been exposed to them since she returned to our rescue. Pat Benatar doesn’t believe Love Is A Battlefield; rather, her mantra would be We Live for Love!
Pat Benatar is almost potty trained and rings the potty bells on the door when she needs to go outside. She walks well on her leash but can pull a little when something gets her attention. She spends several hours at a time in her crate, though she would rather be with you. She knows her basic obedience (and focuses like a laser when treats are involved) and has taken training classes at the Oregon Humane Society. Pat Benatar is a great car traveler; she is very relaxed and lies down on the seat or looks out the window.
Her ideal home? Pat Benatar is looking for someone to Treat Me Right, which includes showering her with love and attention and ensuring she learns the skills that will make her a well-rounded and happy dog. A few treats, daily exercise, playing games, and dog siblings or older children who can help her temper her exuberance would be lovely. Can you make her dreams come true in the end?
