My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Don't you want your very own mini deer or Max the Grinch’s dog in time for Christmas? Meet Hanz!

Hanz, his 4 siblings, his mom and several other dogs found their way to CRT after being saved from a 50+ dog hoarding case in Georgia. Currently, all 4 of Hanz’ siblings have been adopted, and poor Hanz is still waiting on his forever home!

Hanz was born on Feb 20, 2024 and is a tall, lanky athletic guy like his mom, Greta. Hanz is currently about 15 pounds and we don't expect him to get much bigger since he's already 6 mo old. He looks just like a mini deer but we think he's a mix of Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua/Dachshund. Hanz has a gorgeous fawn colored coat and light yellow expressive eyes.

Hanz follows his foster mom everywhere. His foster mom says he is super graceful and sweet! Hanz is fast as the wind and LOVES to run! He just wants to play and gets along with dogs of all sizes. Hanz would make a great jogging or hiking companion and would love to visit the local breweries with you – just hold on to your beer! He’s a great size for a camping dog or any traveling for that matter.

He eats very politely and does NOT mark anything (no leg lifting). He is doing well on potty training if you take him out enough.

Won’t you give Hanz a home?

Hanz is UTD on vaccines, HW Negative and on HW preventative. Hanz was recently neutered. He has also been microchipped.

Hanz’s adoption donation is $350.00.

If you are interested in the above dog, please do not email us and tell us that you are interested, but submit an adoption application. The link for the application is below.

To submit an application go here……chihuahua-rescue.com/adoption-application/

An application must be submitted and approved before a meet-n-greet can be scheduled.

Your current dogs/cats must be spayed or neutered unless a veterinarian has determined that your current pet(s) should not be fixed due to medical reasons. They must also be up-to-date on shots and on HW preventative.

Reference checks and a home visit are required so SE dogs can only be adopted in NC/SC, VA, TN, AL, GA, and MD.

Additional adoption info

If you are interested in one of our dogs, please submit an application.

We require an adoption application, reference checks and home visit before adoption.

We also require that all current pets be UTD on shots, on HW preventative and spayed/neutered. Adoption fee is $250.00 for Chi's over 1 year of age and $300 for Chi's under 1 year of age. Other adoption listings are priced as is.

We do not set up a meet-n-greet with a dog without an approved application and a completed home visit. The process starts with an application on line and when the application and references have been checked, a home visit is required. After the HV report has been reviewed by our board, a meet-n-greet will be set up.
