My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Adoption Fee: $275, plus taxes
Location: Foster Home

Yang is half of an adorable pair with her brother Yin and would love to stay with him. Right from start she was confident and loved getting petted and climbing all over her foster dad. Just watch where you step because she will be right at your feet. Give her lots to explore and toys to play with and you will hear a fully functioning purr machine that just seems to go on and on. When she locks on one (like a certain feather wand toy), she will keep it to herself and nothing is getting it from her. She and her brother are the quietest cats I have ever experienced. A few squeaks occasionally, quiet purrs and yes a little growl to hold onto those feathers. Maybe one day will learn the language of meow but not there yet.

The two have not directly met the resident cats yet but certainly know they are there and even seen them through a plastic wall. No sign of fear or aggression so they may be okay living with other pets.

Yang is about five months old, she is spayed, microchipped, and up to date with her vaccinations.

If you are interested in Yang (and Yin of course) please submit an application on Carver Scott Humane Society's website today!

Go meet their pets

While we are a foster-based animal rescue and all of our dogs are in foster care, we do have a cat adoption space at our new Adoption & Wellness Center in Chaska. We also partner with local retail locations like PetSmart Richfield and Chuck & Don's Chanhassen to feature adoptable cats at their stores.

More about this rescue

Carver-Scott Humane Society was founded in 1989 with the mission of connecting animals in need with people who care. Our vision is a world where every animal is safe, cared for, and loved.

In 2017, we introduced a new, innovative rescue philosophy based on our Four Pillars: TNR, Serve Where You Save, FurKeeps, and Adopters Welcome. As of 2018, we adopt over 500 dogs and cats into the community every year, with a nationally reported Live Release Rate of 97%. We serve over 1,000 Minnesota pets and their families annually through our surrender prevention program, FurKeeps, aiming to keep pets out of the shelter system in the first place.

CSHS focuses on serving and saving Minnesota pets, and we do not transport animals in from out of state. We do our best to prevent surrender, which creates capacity for us to transfer most of our animals from high-volume impounds and shelters throughout the state. For the past three years, we have transferred more animals from Minneapolis Animal Care & Control than any other animal welfare organization.
