My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet the resilient Machu! This 4-year-old, strong, and fast pup has an incredible story. Rescued from an abandoned barn three years ago, where he was underweight and covered in paint, Machu has made remarkable progress under our care. We weren’t sure if we could be Machu’s forever home, but we knew we had to get him out of the tough situation he was in. These past three years have been a journey, but due to demanding work schedules (12+ hour days and weekends), we can no longer give him the time and attention he deserves. He’s microchipped, current on his rabies shot, and will have all his vaccines updated before heading to his new home. Machu is a high-energy, intelligent dog who thrives in a pack environment and loves to run and explore. He gets along well with other dogs and would flourish in a home with canine companions. His dream day would involve herding on a ranch or tackling an obstacle course—activities that truly light up his spirit. Despite his energy, Machu isn’t a morning dog, so your mornings will be as relaxed as possible. But once you’re done with work, he’ll be ready to run around the yard and play. And did I mention he’s a lap dog? Yes, this 80-pound sweetheart loves to snuggle, with no sense of personal space! Due to his size and exuberance, he’s not ideal for homes with young children, as he might accidentally knock them over. Machu is house-trained, crate-trained, and has completed a three-week board and train program. He knows basic and advanced commands, but continued training would help him harness his strength and determination. Machu does have some fear aggression toward female strangers, likely due to past trauma, so he’d do best in a home with a male owner or a mixed-gender household without children. This resilient pup is ready for his perfect forever home. Could it be with you?
