My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Freya, a loyal and energetic 7-year-old German Shepherd mix! Freya has lived with her family since she was a puppy and has been raised with other dogs, cats, and even farm animals like chickens and goats. She's affectionate, loves belly rubs, and is great with sharing toys, treats, and spaces with other pets. She's also gentle with children and tolerant of toddlers.

Freya is house-trained, knows basic commands, and makes a great watchdog, alerting her family to anything unusual. She loves the outdoors, enjoys patrolling her yard, and is happiest when running and playing in water or sunbathing.

However, Freya is very strong and not the best on a leash, so she'll need someone who can handle her energy. She's an expert escape artist who needs a very tall fence, as she can easily jump over a 5-foot one. Once she's out, she loves to run, making it a game to get her back. Though she may be shy in new situations and bark when anxious, she is just as sweet as can be to her people!

Freya is looking for a home with plenty of space to run and someone who can give her the attention, exercise, and love she deserves!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

We ask potential adopters to fill out a matchmaker form. When they are ready to adopt an animal and the form and interview process indicates a good match, we have the adopter sign an adoption contract promising that the animal will receive good physical and emotional care. Fees vary and we often have adoption specials. Fees for senior pets are sponsored. Otherwise, dogs are $100, puppies $150 and up, cats are $75, kittens are $95.
