My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

MEET IRMA!

Beauty, brains, and personality - this girl's got it all! Irma is a 12 year old Torti who was surrendered to Philly's animal control shelter because her elderly owner could no longer care for a pet. Irma has handled this huge life change in stride which is a true testament to what a cool cat she is. She'd be an easy addition to most families!

Irma can be a little shy at first but give her a little time to settle in and get to know you and she'll be your best friend. She loves to snuggle and will happily greet you at the door after a long day at work. She also has a playful side and will keep you laughing for a little stress relief. If you're looking for a little in-house pet therapy, Irma may be the girl for you. She is currently in foster care with other cats and gets along with them well. She'd do well in a home with other friendly, low-key cats like herself. She'd also be completely content as an only pet and would be a great companion for someone looking for their first cat!

Irma is available for adoption through City of Elderly Love! She is spayed, vaccinated and microchipped. She is also FIV/FeLV negative. Irma has had a senior workup at our vet and has proved to be in great shape! Interested in adopting her? More about this rescue

Operating as an independent subsidiary of Citizens for a No-Kill Philadelphia, City of Elderly Love is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit animal rescue dedicated to saving and enriching the lives of adoptable senior pets in the Philadelphia area. Utilizing volunteer foster homes, City of Elderly Love aims to rescue these animals from potential euthanasia at area animal shelters as well as prevent older animals from entering the shelter-system in the first place, when possible. City of Elderly Love also provides palliative and hospice care when needed. Through creative marketing and community events, City of Elderly Love works to place its adoptable pets into loving adoptive homes.
