My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

**Ophelia is a Patient Paw, please ask about their reduced adoption fee!**

Age: 3 years

Ophelia was so small and frightened when she arrived at our shelter after losing her human. Although she`d wedged herself behind her hide when she first got here Ophelia has come out of her shell and now is girl who loves to play. Sometimes she just wants to have some human affection and sometimes she likes to play a bit rough but she is such a sweet girl that deserves a forever home. In her previous home, she liked to keep her humans company by curling up on a lap as they greeted the day with coffee, or last thing at night when they settled down to read or watch a show. Ophelia is still young and does enjoy play; she`d love a family who can spend time playing with her each day, and understand when to take a break and let her have some time to herself. Ophelia`s name means `benefit` or `help`, so if you think Ophelia could benefit your family, and help bring some more joy and love into your life, please come tell her hello!

More about this shelter

CONNECTING LIVES SINCE 1922

From our earliest beginning, Calgary Humane Society was more than a shelter. As Calgary’s first-established animal welfare organization, connecting the lives of animals and people while providing essential animal services to the community remains our central priority.

Today, Calgary Humane Society (CHS) shelters almost 5,000 homeless animals each year. In 1922 we set out to help as many animals as we can and we will continue to do so by fostering the values of respect, compassion, commitment, teamwork, integrity and innovation.

Our mission is to help as many animals as we can.

Our vision is using innovative strategies to lead, inspire, and educate in the humane treatment of companion animals, fostering an enlightened community that consistently demonstrates respect and compassion for all animals.

Our dream is a community where animals are valued, humanely treated, and live enriched lives.

Calgary Humane Society is committed to creating a better tomorrow through education and collaboration.
