My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Handsome Mr. Negrito was rescued from a high-kill shelter when he was on the euthanasia list for that very same day. He was saved just in the nick of time! And what a good thing he was! He's such a sweet and charming fellow. He loves to be petted and showered with affection. He's enjoying the creature comforts at his foster mom's home, sleeping on the couch or the bed and loving every minute of finally feeling safe, well cared for and loved. After all he's been through, this poor guy deserves to live the rest of his life in a forever home where he'll never want for anything and where he'll be adored by his humans as much as he adores them.

Poor Mr. Negrito contracted FIV on the mean streets of LA, but with a good diet and a life free of stress, safe and sound indoors, he will be able to live out a normal life like any cat. When he was rescued from the shelter, Negrito needed a dental, but his foster mom took care of that, and he's fine now. He had eight teeth removed, so he now only eats wet food -- which, of course, is better for cats anyway, especially males.

Negrito gets along very well with other cats and with cat-friendly dogs. He's a very mellow boy, and mostly just loves to take it easy. Though, bird watching through the windows is definitely one of his favorite pastimes, and he finds it to be very exciting indeed!

If you open up your heart to this sweet boy and give him the life he deserves, he'll repay you a hundred fold with love and devotion and never-ending gratefulness.

More about this rescue

Kitten Rescue is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization devoted to finding loving homes for unwanted, homeless cats and kittens. We rescue cats and kittens from the streets of Los Angeles and from City Shelter euthanasia. Since our start in 1997, we have grown into one of the largest, most well-respected animal welfare groups in LA.

Kitten Rescue volunteers adopt out over 2,000 cats and kittens into homes every year. We educate the public about responsible pet guardianship, how to care for kittens and cats, and the importance of spaying and neutering. Kitten Rescue makes educational material available via events, print, school presentations and here on our website. We also provide Trap-Neuter-Return (TNR) assistance for communities in and around Los Angeles, and teach people how to manage and care for feral cat colonies.
