Meet Gary, a 4-year-old male Shepherd mix with a heart as big as his journey. His story began with a rough start, leaving him with scars that tell of his past struggles. Gary found himself at a shelter in Texas, where his time was running out-until Anderson Humane stepped in, flying him to safety and into the arms of a loving foster who is helping him heal.
This sweet boy gets along wonderfully with other dogs, cats, and kids. He adores long walks and craves affection. Though shy at first, Gary warms up quickly, especially when treats are involved! His soulful brown eyes reflect his gentle nature and sensitive spirit. While he's still working through some anxiety, Gary grows more confident every day as he learns to trust and love again.

Our dogs and puppies go home spayed/neutered, microchipped, heartworm tested (7 months and over), and up to date on core vaccines, heartworm, flea, and tick preventatives. Their adoption also includes a free-vet exam at one of our participating veterinarians.

Current programming such as our Adoption Program, Military Veterans’ Program, and Healing Paws Pet Therapy Program create positive, impactful connections between people and animals, improving the lives of both.
