My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Microchipped, DOB: Oct 10, 2022

Daisy is a sweet, chatty and playful cat. She loves to be around her people, not so much other cats. She enjoys her moments of petting and rubbing and playing, then she’ll flop on the floor or furniture and chill. She really loves her face and neck rubs and likes to sleep next to her person. Just listen to her purr and purr and purr!

Play is the way to Daisy’s heart! She is more motivated by play than food. She LOVES to play with someone and by herself – small soft toys she can bat around and carry are best. You can throw bouncy balls (plastic or foam) and swish a wand toy around. She gets the zoomies and whips around the furniture and cat trees, having a great time. Daisy also loves to sit at the window and watch the world go by.

You need to earn her trust to receive her love! It won’t take long because she does love attention and wants her face rubs and chats. You can have “extensive conversations” with her. Once she has built a bond with you, she’ll hang around you on your desk, bed, kitchen counter, wherever you are. She’ll roll over, show her belly, knead the air, purr, and blink her eyes in contentment, while you look at and talk to her!

Daisy is a gentle soul, not aggressive. When scared or surrounded by commotion, she’ll most likely hide. She’s not a fan of being held (although she is making progress) and, as yet, is not a lap cat. Given how affectionate and friendly she is, there is a very good chance she’ll become a lap cat. Daisy was not comfortable around children (under 10 years old), when she was caring for her kittens. Now, that her “mama” hormones are gone, she is more relaxed around people and might do better with children.

Daisy likes kibble and can be less enthusiastic about wet food. However, she is eating it. More details about her food will be shared when adopted.

Daisy uses her litter box without fail and covers her business dutifully. She is currently using and enjoying a pea husk litter (Catit Pea Husk) and is comfortable with tall and short boxes (although she seems to prefer the tall one).

Daisy would do best as a single pet in your home. She doesn’t want other cats in the home to come near her and she’s not interested in getting to know them. She is much more interested in people!

Additional adoption info

Adoption fee is $200 per adult cat, and $250 for kittens (under 8 months old).

This ensures that the cats that come into our care receive the attention they need, are spayed or neutered, and receive a rabies vaccination at the appropriate age. For City of Toronto residents, the adoption fee includes a mandatory City of Toronto cat license that is valid for one year. As you can imagine, these fees only begin to cover our costs; donations and ongoing fundraising efforts carry us the rest of the way!

Note:
-Senior cats (8 years or older) have an adoption fee of the adopter's choice, vs. our standard adult adoption fee of $200.
-Our adoption fee for an adult bonded pair (8 months or older) is $150 per cat vs. $200 per cat. Thanks for giving two loving friends a home together!
