My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maya is a 7 year old tabby/calico kitty with a very sweet face. She can be incredibly sweet, and likes to be near her person; she is cuddly and purrs like a happy girl. She is also very social and enjoys greeting new visitors. Maya loves to be able to lay on the grass in the sun, she enjoys being outside and yet stays close to home. We hope she can have some time being outdoors at a new home, as she loves to go outside a few times a day.  She often naps indoors and loves to eat her kibble and can be picky with food. She loves to carry socks around in her mouth, and makes cute meows when she finds a treasure.

Maya also has shown us her boundaries, and started to express some behaviors when we brought another female cat into the home and then again when we brought a dog (50 pounds) into our home that sometimes tries to play with her and chases her.  Swatting out and random peeing has resulted.  She tolerates our female cat and female golden doodle dog, but we think she would be happier without another female cat in the house and no dog or a dog that does not chase her.

We have a baby boy in the house who is now crawling. He is curious about Maya and she is curious about him, but we keep him away from her just in case. We are not sure if Maya is bad with kids since we keep him away from her.  She loves sleeping next to us and cuddling on our laps. She does not like belly rubs at all.  Maya is a complex kitty.

We've had Maya since she was a kitten and got her locally. At first she lived with my roommate's cat, an older male cat, who she just loved to be around and nap with. We are looking for a home where she will be loved and cared for, and get lots of attention. Indoor primarily with some outdoor experience. Rehoming fee is $125

Additional adoption info

Adoptable cats and kittens are shown on our website with detailed profiles and pictures. To help our potential adopters learn more about the cat(s), we encourage them to first contact and discuss with the foster family if it might be a good fit. Potential adopters must submit an adoption application for review and evaluation.

We require that adopted cats be mainly indoor cats and no declawing is allowed. Adopters must be over 21 years old and sign a contract that lists out his/her responsibility as the cat's owner.

More about this rescue

Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption.

Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.
