My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hiya. My name is KYLIE (Lili) and here is a little info about me:
Breed: Briquet Griffon Vendeen/Terrier mix
Age: 2-1/2 years old
Gender: Female
Weight: 48 lb
Height: 22 inches
Country of origin: Middle East
Highlight(s): Calm, tri-paw, joyful, very affectionate, independent, low exercise needs

Despite losing a hand, I walk with grace and my heart is full of love. I am a gentle and affectionate dog with a deep love for humans!

My journey began as a beloved pet, but life took a turn, leaving me on the streets of the Middle East. Life on the streets was tough, especially with my missing paw. It us unknown how it happened. Life hasn’t been easy since I lost one of my paws, but my spirit remains unbroken. Being abandoned broke my little heart... But then an incredible human rescued me! Now, I'm living in a shelter and cared for by wonderful volunteers. The shelter provides me with necessities; however, it is not a proper place for a dog with disabilities so they have to keep me in a small room for the majority of the time. I am stuck within these walls until something (someone!) alters my path. Is that someone you? I am absolutely irresistible, no doubt about it! I am a lover through and through!

I adore spending time with dogs and people of all ages. Even though I cherish my other furry pals, there's something about being with humans that makes my tail wag extra hard! Sometimes I daydream about snuggling with my favorite human on a cozy couch. I imagine spending quality time together indoors or outdoors, perhaps on a covered deck, where I can watch birds and squirrels. I just can't wait for these dreams to come true... can you take me there? I promise I will bring nothing but joy and happiness into your life. A big plus is there should be enough of a leg stump to provide me with a prosthetic. Then I could run and play like all the other dogs too.

I'm a sweet & loving girl, and I so enjoy being around people and other dogs. My favorite pastimes are chilling and cuddling with my human. BONUS! I am leash-trained, and not a barker! I know that I'm not supposed to pee inside, but I might need a little bit of training to re-acquaint me in that area since I've been in the shelter now.

Energy Level: low to moderate

I get along with:
Dogs: yes
Cats: unknown
Kids: yes

Fears: unknown/none observed. Please be patient in assisting me in my transition.

Training:
Leash skills: yes. Please be prepared to continue training.
House trained: Yes. Please help me learn where to go in my new home.

Health notes: I am missing the lower part of my right front leg.
I have been spayed & vaccinated. I will be microchipped before arriving in Canada.

My adoption fee is $650.00 CAD plus applicable taxes. This includes my transportation to Canada, if I am able to be accompanied by a flight volunteer directly to Vancouver.

Due to the present confrontational Middle East environment where this dog resides, airlines are minimally operating. She may therefore be delayed in arriving to Canada. She will eventually be sent, but we have no specified timeframe at this moment. If you are willing to wait, we and this dog appreciate your patience.

Disclaimer: It is important for all applicants to visit our website, http://www.lovedatlastdogrescue.ca/adopting/and read about Loved at Last Dog Rescue.

Please Note: LALDR highly encourages adopters to research some local dog trainers before their dog arrives. Although a 1-on-1 trainer is often not needed, it is good to have someone in mind in case any problematic behaviours arise. Most bad behaviours can be modified if caught early enough, so make sure to nip undesirable behaviours in the bud before they become serious problems.

Basic training should be taken seriously, but should not begin until your dog is well settled in - at least a couple of weeks. After you feel your new dog is relaxed and comfortable in their new home, check out training courses in your local area. Even basic beginner courses like those taught at a local pet store can have a huge benefit in helping your dog learn to socialize and get used to being in public situations, all with the added benefit of strengthening their bond with you.

The age and breed of a dog is usually an educated guess, so we are not able to guarantee the accuracy of age or breed of our dogs.

Information included in the profile is provided to us from the international rescuer or local fosters. LALDR does not have access to overseas dogs and cannot always verify the accuracy of their descriptions. Every dog is an individual and can act differently in different situations based on the person adopting them and the environment in which they live.

Normally, we will not approve adoptions to homes with children under 12 years of age. However if a dog has been determined to be good with children we will approve applicants with children 8 years or older. More information can be found on our website.
